Step-by-step guide to connect WhatsApp Business API through Fonada AI using Meta Embedded Signup.

Before you start

Read this once before onboarding. Fonada AI sits on top of Meta's APIs so you manage numbers, templates, and conversations from one dashboard.

Gather everything below before Step 1.

Onboarding walkthrough

Follow Steps 1–10 in order inside Meta Embedded Signup.

Step 1 of 10

Sign up / Login

Open the Fonada AI console and sign in with the account that will own this WhatsApp integration.

Do this

  1. Go to prod.fonada.ai/login.
  2. Sign in with Google, or use email and password.
  3. Complete any first-time profile steps if prompted.
  4. From the dashboard, open the WhatsApp section when ready.

Step 2 of 10

Connect WhatsApp Business

From your Fonada AI workspace, open the WhatsApp module and start Meta Embedded Signup.

Do this

  1. Navigate to WhatsApp Platform in the sidebar.
  2. Review the prerequisites checklist on screen.
  3. Confirm Admin access to Meta Business Manager.
  4. Click Connect WhatsApp Business.

Connect Facebook

Meta asks you to log in and confirm what Fonada AI can access on your behalf.

Do this

  1. Log in with your personal Facebook account (Admin on the portfolio).
  2. Read the permissions summary on the Meta screen.
  3. Click Continue to proceed.
  4. Keep the popup open until the next step loads.

Step 4 of 10

Select Business Portfolio

Choose the Business Portfolio that will own your WhatsApp Business API account.

Do this

  1. Select your Business portfolio from the dropdown.
  2. If you manage multiple portfolios, pick the one for this brand.
  3. Confirm the portfolio name matches your legal entity.
  4. Click Next.

Step 5 of 10

Create or select WABA

A WABA groups phone numbers and templates under your Business Portfolio.

Do this

  1. Choose Create a WhatsApp Business account or select an existing WABA.
  2. Enter an internal account name (not necessarily customer-facing).
  3. Confirm the WABA sits under the correct portfolio.
  4. Click Next.

Business details

This form is reviewed by Meta for display name and profile compliance.

Do this

  1. Enter Business Display Name, Category, Country, and Website.
  2. Add time zone and a short business description.
  3. Expand Show more options if additional fields appear.
  4. Click Next.

Step 7 of 10

Verify phone number

Register a dedicated number that can receive OTP by SMS or voice call.

Do this

  1. Choose Add a new number (recommended for production).
  2. Pick country code and enter the full number.
  3. Enter the WhatsApp business display name if prompted.
  4. Select Text message or Phone call verification, then Next.

Step 8 of 10

Verification code

Type the 6-digit code Meta sent to your phone.

Do this

  1. Wait for SMS or answer the verification call.
  2. Enter all six digits in the Meta form.
  3. If SMS fails, switch to Phone call and retry.
  4. Click Next after the code is accepted.

Step 9 of 10

Review access

Meta shows exactly what Fonada AI will be allowed to do on your behalf.

Do this

  1. Review permissions: manage business, WhatsApp accounts, numbers, and templates.
  2. Confirm the partner name matches Fonada AI.
  3. Click Continue to grant access.

Step 10 of 10

Finish application

Meta confirms your business is ready to use WhatsApp through the connected partner.

Do this

  1. Read the success summary on the final Meta screen.
  2. Click Finish to close Embedded Signup.
  3. Return to the Fonada AI tab — the dashboard should refresh automatically.

Go live

After Step 10, Fonada AI shows connection status, quality rating, and template limits. Send test messages, create templates, and configure webhooks from the dashboard.
